Do you want to talk to someone else who is living with HIV?
At Positiva Gruppen Väst, one on one conversations and support are available on your terms. We have a peer-to-peer approach, which means that our supporters have experience of living with HIV themselves. Of course, we are bound by professional secrecy. We speak Swedish and English. If you need to talk in other languages, we can book an interpreter.

Posithiv plattform - a weekend for people living with HIV
Have you recently received your HIV diagnosis or have you had it for a while? Posithiv Plattform is an opportunity to spend a weekend learning more and meeting others in a similar situation. Through lectures and workshops, we raise issues related to sexual health, exclusion, medication and psychosocial support. You will have the opportunity to listen and ask questions, talk about sex, when-where-how should I tell and relationships. There will be a lot of time to meet and socialise with other participants and share experiences.
The weekend is free, you stay in a single room and travel is included. The number of spots is limited. Posithiv plattform is held once a year in Västra Götaland and once a year in Värmland, people living in each respective region are given priority. Posithiv plattform is organised in collaboration with Posithiva Gruppen and is held throughout the country. You can find out more at posithivplattform.se
Social activities
Positiva Gruppen Väst is a meeting point for people who are affected by HIV in various ways. We organise different social activities during the year, such as dinners, lectures, walk & talk and excursions. Participation is always free. See what’s going on in our calendar.
Workshops - storytelling on your terms
At Positiva Gruppen Väst, you can share your story and take part in others’. Here you will find tools and ways to help you do it your way. We work with text, photography, interviews, series, podcasts, films and digital storytelling, among other things. There are coaches present. You are welcome whatever your background, language and previous knowledge.
We have developed methods to be able to take power over our own stories. Above all, we work with storytelling and listening as a way to share one’s experiences in a safe space. Law and counselling
Our work has a rights-based approach, both at the societal level and for people living with HIV. At Positiva Gruppen Väst, we can support you with knowledge, advice and legal guidance regarding rights stipulated by the Swedish Communicable Diseases Act, discrimination, the right to asylum or other issues.
Our umbrella organisation Hiv-Sverige has an ombudsman that conducts advocacy work at the national level. PG Väst are members of Antidiskrimineringsbyrån Väst who offer support free of charge if you have been subject to discrimination.
